Dove House Hospice, a charity providing care for people with life limiting illnesses has improved reporting and budgeting by upgrading its financial software to Opera 3 from Pegasus, an award winning supplier of accounting, business and payroll software.
Covering the Hull and East Riding areas, Dove House Hospice has over 200 employees and operates 32 shops in addition to its main hospice unit. As a registered charity, Dove House relies heavily on public support for funding and has to keep tight control over budgets.
Dove House has been using Pegasus Opera II for over 13 years and upgraded to Opera 3 to take advantage of the enhanced reporting offered by the new solution. Opera 3’s XRL application means that Dove House can now effortlessly export data into easily readable spreadsheets, replacing the existing complex matrix reports which were time consuming and cumbersome to manipulate and review.
“As a charity, every aspect of our operation has to remain well within budget,” says Michelle Webster, finance manager, Dove House Hospice. “Opera 3 has not only reduced the time it takes to produce management reports, but analysing the information is easier than before. Comparing figures in the new excel format is straightforward and any anomalies or discrepancies are easy to spot and address.”
“In my experience, Opera 3 is more detailed and has greater functionality than other similar products on the market. Additionally, the software has a straightforward look and feel which in turn simplifies account management processes and reduces the impact of error as any incorrect entries can be easily amended.”
Opera 3 supports all aspects of Dove House’s operation, including purchase ledger, cashbook management and payroll.
